From 1957: The First Elvis Hawaii Concert
Elvis Presley’s first concert in Hawaii took place on November 10, 1957, at the Honolulu Stadium. It was part of his “The Atomic Powered Singer” tour, which ran from October to December of that year.
The concert was a major event in Hawaii, with thousands of fans turning out to see the young superstar perform live. Elvis played a set of his biggest hits, including “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and “All Shook Up,” as well as some lesser-known songs.
Elvis’ performance was well-received by the audience, who responded with loud cheers and applause throughout the show. The concert was also recorded and later released as the album “Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite,” which featured some of the highlights of the show.
Elvis would go on to perform in Hawaii several more times throughout his career, including a legendary concert in 1973 that was broadcast around the world via satellite. His music remains popular in Hawaii to this day, and he is remembered as one of the most influential and beloved musicians in the state’s history.
